Andy Goodrich’s life is turned upside down when his wife enters a rehab program, leaving him alone with their young children. Goodrich leans on Grace, his daughter from his first marriage, and eventually grows into the father she never had. “I wrote it 100 percent with him in mind,” she said, “to the point where I would have buried it and myself in the backyard if he had said no.” The box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch constantly rotates 180° during the breakfast scene.

Entertainment Inc. Godrich is a touching story that draws you into the life of a man you’ll root for. Although he’s basically a good person, his flaws mess up his closest family relationships, and the film skillfully guides us through these challenges from an engaging perspective.The narrative is compelling and contains dramatic moments, though it could have been more emotional.

Vivien Blair shines as a young child, with an endearing presence that adds warmth to the story.One of the supporting characters, however, seemed rushed and underdeveloped, which diluted the impact of the narrative. This is partly because the film tries to cover too many aspects of Godrich’s life, resulting in an overly crowded plot.
A few isolated moments missed their mark, but they don’t greatly detract from the film’s overall quality
