Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer to edit a cryptic and bizarre video from an anonymous employer. Short on cash and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even murdered on camera, surely an elaborately staged fiction. But when her first job leads to even more lucrative work and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures in her apartment, horrific nightmares that keep her awake at night, and a mysterious illness afflicting her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer is and how far she herself is willing to go to get out of her contract.
